Supporting Gun Violence Reduction and Empowering Local Youth

A community-driven initiative aimed at reducing gun violence and empowering local youth has received a boost through a recent grant from the Columbus Bar Foundation. The funding will support the continued growth of the “Think Make Live: Guns Down” program, an effort focused on education, mentorship, and violence prevention across Columbus neighborhoods.

“Think Make Live: Guns Down” works to address the root causes of gun violence by engaging young people in meaningful programming that blends creative expression, conflict resolution, and life skills development. Through workshops, community events, and mentorship opportunities, the program encourages participants to explore alternatives to violence while building confidence and a sense of purpose.

The Columbus Bar Foundation’s support will help expand program offerings, allowing organizers to reach more youth and deepen their impact in communities disproportionately affected by gun violence. Funding will also assist in developing new partnerships with local schools, community leaders, and advocacy groups.

The Columbus Bar Foundation has long prioritized initiatives that promote justice, equity, and community well-being. By supporting programs like “Think Make Live: Guns Down,” the Foundation continues its commitment to fostering safer environments and expanding opportunities for those most at risk.
