Each year, the Columbus Bar Association recognizes lawyers for their service to the bar association and their commitment to professionalism. The Association Relations Committee, under the leadership of Past President Chris Vonau, has the task of reviewing nominations and making final recommendations to the Board of Governors. The committee needs to hear from you!
To nominate an individual for one of these prestigious awards, please send an email to Donna Sweet (donna@cbalaw.org) with the following information: Name of Award; Name of Nominee; 2 – 3 paragraphs describing why you believe the individual deserves to be recognized by the CBA; supporting documentation including resume or list of activities; your name and phone number. Please be sure your nomination includes specific examples of service with narrative. Nominations must be received no later than 11:59 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026 to be considered for the 2026 awards.
The awards under consideration are:
PROFESSIONALISM AWARD
The Professionalism Award is given to an attorney in recognition of exceptional dedication to the standards of the profession and for demonstrated integrity.
BAR SERVICE MEDAL
This award is presented to any attorney who is a member of the Columbus Bar Association and who has shown a long history of distinguished service to the Columbus bar.
