A major change to Ohio’s legal landscape took effect January 1, 2025, reshaping how attorneys must address professional liability insurance and succession planning. Under the updated Ohio Rules for the Government of the Bar, attorneys are now required to report whether they carry professional liability insurance and whether they have a plan in place to manage their practice if they become unable to do so.
