Navigating Ohio’s Changing Group Health Insurance Landscape

Ohio employers are facing several significant changes to the group health insurance market as we move into 2027. Anthem’s ACA small-group plans will be ending in 2027, while Ohio Farm Bureau is dissolving its group health insurance plans effective December 31, 2026. In addition, Medical Mutual will become the administrator for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce MEWA. For law firms and other employers, these changes may create questions about plan options, pricing, renewals, and what steps need to be taken to maintain appropriate coverage for employees.
