Notice from Municipal Court: Appointed Counsel List

Open enrollment for the Franklin County Municipal Court Appointed Counsel List will take place in June 2026. Any attorney who would like to be considered for addition to the list should submit a completed Appointment of Counsel Application on or after June 1, 2026.

Applicants should consult the Franklin County Municipal Court Local Rule 16 (Appointed Counsel) for the requirements for inclusion on the list. Attorneys who are already on the list do not need to reapply. Application materials and submission instructions can be found on the Court’s website: www.franklincountymunicourt.org/courtappointedcounsel

Notice from Municipal Court: Appellate Appointed Counsel List

The Franklin County Municipal Court is in the process of compiling a list of attorneys to be considered for appointment as counsel for criminal and traffic appeals originating in the Franklin County Municipal Court. Please note that, because these circumstances are infrequent, attorneys on this list may be appointed to only one case every 5 years or so. Applicants must have experience with Municipal Court and criminal appeals. Any attorney interested in being considered for the Court Appointed Appellate Counsel List should submit a completed Court Appointed Appellate Counsel Application on or after June 1, 2026.
