Expungement Clinic on April 18

The Franklin County Municipal Court, Legal Aid, OhioMeansJobs, and others are hosting an Expungement Clinic on April 18. The clinic has Franklin County Municipal Judges, Common Pleas Judges, clerks from the Municipal and Common Pleas Clerks' offices, volunteer attorneys, a fee-waiving station, and more to help people check eligibility and file an application for expungement or criminal case sealing. Many attendees use this twice-a-year event to remove obstacles that keep them from housing and jobs. These clinics are also the biggest in the state, serving more than 700 people last year.

Now is the time for those interested to register. The Self Help Center reviews people’s criminal records and puts together a packet that helps volunteer attorneys better assess eligibility.
