Changes Coming to the Franklin County Government Complex

Beginning September 8, 2026, two major adjustments will take effect at the South High Street complex (located between Mound and Fulton streets):

The County Complex Will Have Only One Main Entrance – the Existing High and Fulton Streets Entrance

The High and Fulton entrance will become the sole main entrance to the complex. It will feature two security screening points:

The existing Municipal Court security screening
A newly added screening checkpoint with two metal detectors

The attached map highlights this “Main Entrance” in yellow. Employees and visitors may use either screening area to access all parts of the complex.

Altered Hallway Access Within the 369 and 373 S. High St. Buildings

The long hallway commonly used when entering through the Ben Franklin entrance will be closed. That area is shaded in a light red on the attached map.

These changes will notlimit your ability to go to the cafeteria, access the underground tunnel to Common Pleas Court, or any of the elevator banks that provide access to the 369 and 373 S. High Street buildings. The pedestrian bridge, which spans between the Front Street garage/Juvenile Detention Center to 373 S. High St. will also remain accessible.

It is unclear how long these changes will be in place, but county officials expect the changes could last about three years as the county subsequently builds a childcare center on the site of the former Downtown Jail.
