CBA President Melanie Tobias-Hunter to Deliver Heraldic Proclamation at Annual Red Mass

The Columbus legal community will gather this fall for the Annual Red Mass, a longstanding tradition bringing together members of the legal profession, judiciary, and community for an evening of reflection and fellowship.

The Annual Red Mass will be held Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 5:15 p.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street. The Most Rev. Earl K. Fernandes, Bishop of Columbus, will serve as celebrant. A buffet reception will follow in the Cathedral Undercroft.

As part of this year’s observance, Columbus Bar Association President Melanie Tobias-Hunter will deliver the heraldic proclamation, formally marking the occasion and recognizing the connection between the legal profession and the broader community.

The Red Mass is an opportunity for members of the legal profession to come together outside the courtroom and reflect on the principles of service, justice, and responsibility that shape the practice of law. It also provides an opportunity for colleagues and community members to gather in fellowship.

The Annual Red Mass is hosted by Bishop Fernandes and the members of the Thomas More Society of Columbus, Ohio.

Members of the Columbus legal community are invited to attend and take part in this annual tradition.
