At the Columbus Bar Association, membership has always been about more than dues. It’s about belonging to a professional community that strengthens your practice, supports your growth, and protects the public’s trust in our legal system. To continue delivering the programs, advocacy, technology, and connections our members rely on, the CBA Board of Governors has approved an updated dues structure effective July 1, 2026.
Now Included: Unlimited CLE
Beginning July 1, membership will include unlimited access to Columbus Bar CLE programming.
That means:
For most active practitioners, the value of unlimited CLE alone will offset a significant portion of annual dues. For others, your membership makes it possible for the Columbus Bar Association to be a steward of the legal profession and a protector of the public.
The new dues structure will be as follows:
| Dues Category | Dues as of 7/1/2026 |
| New Attorney (first year in practice) | $49.00 |
| Attorney (2 years or more in practice) | $395.00 |
| Inactive/Retired/Out of State Attorney | $150.00 |
| Sustainer (in addition to dues) | $150.00 |
| Attorney Emeritus (more than 50 years in practice) | $0.00 |
| Associate | $150.00 |
| Paralegal | $150.00 |
| Law School or Paralegal Student | $0.00 |
| Law Schools: Group rate dues for entire law school full-time faculty (not including Adjuncts) | $5,000/year |
We are especially proud to offer first-year attorneys a significant reduction in membership dues — reinforcing our commitment to welcoming and supporting the next generation of legal professionals.
We understand that any dues adjustment matters. This decision was made thoughtfully and strategically to ensure the CBA remains strong and sustainable while continuing to provide the best value to the Central Ohio community for years to come.
Members who wish to submit a petition objecting to the new dues structure may do so pursuant to Article VIII, Section 3 of the Columbus Bar Association Code of Regulations.
Thank you for continuing to belong, lead, and serve.
