Today, we celebrate the founding of the Columbus Bar Association — and more than 150 years of strengthening the legal profession in Central Ohio.

From the very beginning, the CBA has been more than a membership organization. It has been a cornerstone of our legal community — bringing attorneys together to uphold the rule of law, support one another, and serve the public with integrity. It has created a shared space for connection, professionalism, and trust — values that continue to define what it means to practice law in our region.

Over time, the profession has evolved — and so has the CBA. Today, that mission continues in new and meaningful ways. But what hasn’t changed is our purpose. The CBA continues to play a vital role in strengthening not just the profession, but the community itself — supporting civility, mentorship, access to justice, and the collective voice of lawyers across Central Ohio.

As we reflect on where we started, we’re equally focused on where we’re going — continuing to evolve with the profession while staying grounded in the values that built this community.
