A Message from the Nonprofit/Tax-Exempt Organization Committee Chairs

“The Nonprofit/Tax-Exempt Organizations Committee will provide a forum for in-house, law firm and government attorneys to discuss issues relevant and unique to nonprofit/tax-exempt organizations. The group will entertain discussions regarding issues facing the nonprofit industry and will help create a stronger stewardship among those whose practices serve these organizations. The Committee will address issues including: business law and governance; employment-related issues; executive compensation and benefits; federal and state taxation, including UBIT; green strategies; intermediate sanctions; Form 990; accounting; planned giving; real estate; intellectual property; government relations; mergers and acquisitions; and tax-exempt financing. This new forum will assist practitioners with providing answers and workable solutions to their nonprofit clients by recognizing the practical management, political and business considerations that nonprofits face.”

    Meeting Schedule

    Beginning in September 2010, the committee will meet every other month on the 4th Thursday from noon to 1:00pm.
