The Government Agencies Committee consists of lawyers who work for the city, county, state or federal government agencies, and lawyers whose practice brings them in contact with the public sector. There are over 1,023 lawyers in central Ohio who work for a government agency. The Committee will encourage government lawyers to join the Columbus Bar and to participate in the activities of the Government Agencies Committee. We strive to provide opportunities for lawyers to learn about various government offices and the manner in which they provide services to its constituents. Through this endeavor, lawyers will be better able to provide legal services to their clients. The Committee will seek to achieve its mission by inviting monthly speakers to share their thoughts and ideas about the public practice of law. The Committee also hopes to provide opportunities for its members to network with public officials and other practitioners through monthly meetings and speaking engagements.
A Message from the Government Agencies Committee Chair
“I encourage all attorneys, whether public, private, or corporate, to become part of this Committee to learn about various government offices, agencies and boards. Monthly meetings promise to provide relevant information about how government agencies affect and impact the practice of law. Meetings will also provide an opportunity for the public and private bar to interact and network. Each meeting will feature speakers from either a City, County, State or Federal agency. I encourage you to get involved and attend our next meeting.”
