Listserv Guidelines

Listservs (e-mail groups) are available for all Columbus Bar-sponsored committees. Members of Columbus Bar committees will be automatically enrolled in that committee's listserv and can unsubscribe at any time. The listserv is the primary source of communication between the Columbus Bar and committee members, and all meeting notices, including cancellations or important last minute changes, are sent via the listserv.

Please keep the following in mind when using the listserv:

  • Any member of the listserv group may initiate an e-mail message, but it will not be sent until a Columbus Bar staff member verifies that no virus is contained in the message/attachment.
  • Only Columbus Bar members who have signed up for the committee will receive the listserv e-mails.
  • To send a message to the group, simply use the listserv address in the "to" box of your message.
  • The groups are set up to send replies back to the Columbus Bar moderator, not to the person who sent the message.

The listservs are purely for business purposes and may not be used in any manner to promote or otherwise transmit information and/or material that interferes with, or in any way undermines, the stated goals and mission of the Columbus Bar as outlined in the Code of Regulations. The Columbus Bar reserves the right to remove from the listserv any person who violates these rules.

Troubleshooting

If you have signed up for a committee, provided an e-mail address and are not receiving e-mails from the listserv you may want to check to be sure:

  • You have not inadvertently "unsubscribed"
  • Your firm has not installed anti-spam software that reads the address as spam or junk mail

You can also feel free to contact the Columbus Bar at committees@cbalaw.org or 614/221.4112.
