Committees
Columbus Bar committees provide an easy way to stay connected to colleagues, as well as the latest issues impacting your practice and legal community. We offer a comprehensive array of professional, service, court, and advisory committees with a list of more than 4,500 members who have joined the various committees.
Columbus Bar Committee Policies
Columbus Bar Committee Membership is open equally to all members (except for advisory or board-appointed committees). Service requirements vary, but all committees encourage regular attendance. Most committees meet on a monthly basis, usually at noon. Committee enrollment does not carry over from year to year, so please be sure to join your selected committees each year. Click here to read Columbus Bar Committee Policies and click here to read Columbus Bar Listserve Guidelines. For more information about joining a committee, please contact Donna Sweet, Director of Committees, at donna@cbalaw.org or 614/221.4112.
Committee Chairpersons
Columbus Bar Committee Chairs gain opportunities for leadership development, networking, and recognition across the Bar. Chairs serve a vital role in furthering the education of colleagues in their practice area by planning monthly meetings and arranging speakers and topical legal discussions. Committee chairs are appointed by the Columbus Bar President and serve at the pleasure of the president. Click here to read Columbus Bar Committee Chair Policies. If you have an interest in being considered for a Committee Chair position or would like to offer your suggestion for the creation of a new Columbus Bar Committee, please contact Donna Sweet, Director of Committees at donna@cbalaw.org or 614/221.4112.
