Mission

The mission of the Workers' Compensation Committee of the Columbus Bar Association is to improve the quality of our bar through the delivery of educational opportunities and the development of improved interactions between the agencies, courts and lawyers with whom we practice.

A Message from the Committee Chair

My work as Chair of the Worker’s Compensation Committee is inspired by the proclamation etched into the stone of the Ohio Judicial Center, home to the Supreme Court of Ohio: “The whole fabric of society rests upon labor.” I will bring to our Bar a selection of speakers that extend our ideas about workers’ compensation laws and embolden our dedication to the clients we serve. At our monthly meetings, I will keep members apprised of changes in the law and facilitate active, healthy discussions regarding the directions we would like our legislature to take.

When each of us walks down Front Street in downtown Columbus, we encounter on the Ohio Judicial Center stone portrayals of Ohio’s earliest industries—printing, farming, winemaking, even beekeeping. For me, these stand as poignant reminders that workers and their employers sustain the wellbeing of Ohioans and that it is our responsibility to protect such essential roles at all costs.

Please join us on the third Wednesday of every month for our Committee meeting, when we will hear from special speakers and engage in discussion after each presentation.
