The everyday act of visiting our favorite news, shopping or political website makes us all susceptible to a lesser known attack, commonly called the drive-by download. Your network can become infected when visiting legitimate websites–without clicking on anything at all–via this attack method. Rosa and Ed’s presentation will explore the drive-by download, its aftermath, and tips to mitigate this risk.
Rosa is a paralegal specializing in data privacy and cybersecurity who works with small businesses to help them shore up their networks and is available to speak to civic groups, professional associations, and parent/teacher groups on the importance of children's safety online. Ed is principal consultant and co-founder of Rendition InfoSec, a security and risk management consulting company. He works with the government and private businesses of all sizes, mitigating risks, responding to intrusions and conducting a host of services centering around security.
