How We Help the Community

Our Mission:

The Columbus Bar Association strives to be the leader in providing excellent, innovative and cost effective services to members of the legal profession and the general public in central Ohio. Through the active involvement of a broad and diverse membership, we will focus on professionalism, education, advocacy and community service in order to advance the justice system for all.

Protect the Public:

The Columbus Bar works hard to help protect and inform the public related to legal matters. We provide multiple free services to help with attorney/client fee disputes and other disagreements and we investigate and prosecute ethical violations by lawyers in Franklin County.

Promote Diversity:

The Columbus Bar Diversity Initiative and Minority Clerkship Program help to ensure a diverse legal representation for the community and to provide opportunities and support to minority law students.

Legal Information:

The Columbus Bar helps the public get prepared for a more positive legal experience with our collection of consumer-friendly information, legal forms, and links to legal resources.

Find a Lawyer:

Picking the right lawyer for you is the first step in getting a good result to your legal matter. The Columbus Bar provides two free lawyer-finding services that can help!

Become a Notary:

The Columbus Bar is the official provider of Notary Public services in Franklin County. Last year, more than 4,000 people became Notaries via the Columbus Bar Association Notary Registration Service. We provide and process notary applications, testing, seminars, stamps and seals, and answer frequently asked questions about becoming a notary public.

Pro Bono Opportunities:

The Columbus Bar Association presents an efficient, effective infrastructure to help attorneys practice the law of good intentions.
