Make Your Vote Count: Election Law Issues

~by Holly Canterucci, Columbus Bar Association

As the 2008 elections grow near, the frequency of political television ads, news reports, and opinions escalates. From absentee voting, to ballot initiatives, to presidential politics, to Ohio’s role in the fate of the national elections, we're in for lots of changes.

Election Law @ Moritz boasts (and posts) all things election law. Election Law @ Moritz is a web publication that covers developments in the law of election administration - laws dealing with voter registration, voter ID, early and absentee voting, provisional balloting, poll workers and polling place procedures, recounts and election contests, and other related issues. Their primary target audience includes lawyers and legal scholars who focus on these issues, as well as journalists in the elections field. Check it out at: http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/electionlaw/.

And, if curiosity gets the better of you, consider attending the Columbus Bar’s September 11 CLE program on election law. The program brings together some of Franklin County’s most experienced election law attorneys to discuss recent changes in the law, issues on the horizon, and issues around campaign finance.
