Leadership Academy

The shortest path to leadership in Columbus is a direct one. Learn practical, concrete and effective techniques for building relationships to help you meet your professional goals, at the feet of today’s leaders, side by side with tomorrow’s.

Four condensed sessions will prepare you to turn nebulous concepts like ‘business development,’ ‘networking’ and ‘community involvement’ into attainable short-term goals. Complete all four sessions, in any order, to earn a Columbus Bar Leadership Academy Certificate. The certificate tells your employers, clients, colleagues and others that you’re invested in your local community.

Register online by clicking on the links below, or register with the mail-in registration form. Dinner is included for your convenience. Space is limited--please register early if you plan to attend. You will be notified if  your application has arrived after the session has been filled. If you miss a session you have registered for, you may transfer your payment to another session, or request a refund subject to a $10 cancellation fee.

You DO NOT have to complete the sessions in order--you will graduate when you complete all four sessions, in any order. Please note that there are two offerings of "Go Fish" for your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this program different than other leadership programs in town? This program is designed to help you get started on a lifetime of learning in our community. Knowing that you’ll learn as much, if not more, from leaders and colleagues you interact with, our program is as compact as possible, so you can get the basic skills and confidence you need.

What if I don’t want to attend all four sessions? You are welcome to attend any sessions you think might be helpful to you. However, only members who have attended all four required sessions will be recognized as graduates of the Leadership Academy.

If I miss the first session, can I start part way through? Yes. You can register for any upcoming session at any time. If you want to complete the program in one year, you’ll want to make sure you can attend all four sessions in that year. Otherwise, you can complete the sessions you need to graduate the coming year.

What are my registration options? Register online, or use the mail-in registration form. Registration is not complete without payment. Payment for missed sessions may be transferred to any other session, or refunded subject to a $10 cancellation fee. Week-of registrations may be possible depending on space availability. Please call 221.4112 to determine if there is space available.
