Judicial Screening CommitteeThe Judicial Screening Committee is a political balanced group of 21 members and 3 to 5 alternates who serve three year terms. The Committee is responsible for interviewing all judicial candidates, except those running unopposed, and evaluating them in the year in which the election for the office is to be held. After evaluation, the Committee ranks each candidate as: (a) Highly Recommended; (b) Acceptable; or, (c) Not Recommended. After Board approval, these ranking are used in the Preference Poll sent to attorneys in August. |
