The Future of the Legal Profession group represents the first "virtual" committee for the Columbus Bar. While this group will meet face-to-face periodically, the committee will exist primarily in cyberspace taking advantage of website, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media outlets to share information about the challenges facing lawyers. The committee will focus on internal and external threats, technology, the changing economy and any subject that may have a positive or negative effect of the legal community.
A Message from the Future of the Legal Profession Committee Chair
“If nothing else, the future of the legal profession is one without boundaries. New technology has knocked down office walls. Internationalization and outsourcing have globalized both the client and labor markets. The billable hour remains under siege. But where exactly are we headed? Enter the Committee on the Future of the Legal Profession. It's been said that the best way to predict the future is to invent it. Our virtual committee provides just that opportunity. We'll tackle the cutting edge issues that seek to define the profession, providing our members with the knowledge and tools they'll need to succeed in the marketplace of tomorrow. Can you afford not to join?”
