Notary Public Information
The CBA is the official provider of Notary Public services in Franklin County, Ohio. We provide and process notary applications and exams, offer notary training seminars, sell stamps and supplies, and answer questions about becoming a Notary Public.
What is a Notary Public?
A Notary Public is a public officer appointed under authority of state law with power to administer oaths, certify affidavits and take acknowledgments. No person may be appointed to public office as a Notary Public in Franklin County, Ohio unless he or she is 18 years of age or over and is a county resident.
Apply for a Notary License
Residents of Franklin County, Ohio may apply for a notary license through the Columbus Bar Association. Download and complete the appropriate application, have it notarized, and return it to the Columbus Bar Notary Department, with payment.

Notary Errors & Omissions Insurance
Notary Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance is essentially "liability" coverage designed to protect your personal and professional assets in the event you make a mistake as a Notary that causes your client to suffer financial loss.
