Why did you decide to be a solo attorney participating in Columbus Bar inc?
I joined Columbus Bar inc in order to gain both legal and business experience. By running my own solo practice with the help of the Columbus Bar and its generous mentors, I am able to develop and grow my law practice within a safe environment. Additionally, there is more flexibility to work in different areas of law in order to find the area that I enjoy the most.

What area(s) of law does your solo practice focus on?
I am running a general practice in order to learn more about all areas of the law and to find my niche within the legal community. Currently I am working on estate planning, landlord/tenant issues, small business, real estate, family law, and mediation services.

What made you choose your primary area of law?
I chose to start a general practice instead of focusing my work in one area of law in order to allow myself the flexibility to take on cases in any area of law. I am currently working in the areas of estate planning, family law, and mediation because of my prior experiences in these areas.

What will make your law firm unique?
My firm is unique because of the approach I takes towards my clients. I strive to create a warm and safe environment for all of my clients. Most times the circumstances that bring a person into an attorney’s office are upsetting and difficult. By focusing on the client, her goals, and her needs, my practice can set the client at ease and help guide her through the legal process in a way that is as painless as possible.

Summary of previous employment:
During law school, I worked as a research assistant for Professor Katherine Federle in the area of juvenile justice. Pursuing my interest in children and family law, I took a position as a law clerk with the Craig P. Treneff Law Office. While working for Craig, I learned a great deal about divorces, custody issues, and the work of a Guardian ad Litem. Finally, I worked in the Ohio State Civil Law Clinic as a legal intern, assisting in bankruptcies, construction and commercial law, and mediation.

Describe your personal interests and hobbies:
I enjoy dancing, watching movies, and reading. Dance is my favorite hobby, as I have danced since I was two years old. In order to incorporate dance more into my life, I volunteer with BalletMet as the president of its young professionals organization, MetPremiere.
