Notice to A-L: It's CLE Season at the Columbus Bar

There are a variety of interesting CLE programs throughout the calendar year, but due to busy schedules it is not unusual for attorneys to need to catch up on CLE requirements during the month of December. That’s why we offer two programs a day most of the days of this month, right up until December 31.

Coming up next week includes “Major case Management” – (December 17, 9:00am) a program presented by former FBI agent Harry Trombitas, former prosecutor Mike Miller and Franklin County Sherriff Steve Martin who cover the high profile cases of Thomas Lee Dillon and Charles McCoy Jr.

We will also be offering “Managing the Media” (December 17, 1:30pm) with Bruce Hennes and Scott Campbell, and video replays of popular classes like “New Lawyer Training: Core Components of Client Fund Management, Law Office Management and Professionalism” (December 18, 9:00am).

And we take interesting approaches to our programs such as thematic ethics, professionalism and substance abuse (EPSA) classes like our Masters Series: “Lawyers in Literature and Cinema” (December 16, 1:30pm); “Lawyers in American History” (December 26, 9:00am); and “Great American Trials” (December 27, 9:00am) as well as Stuart Teicher’s “The Fear Factor: How Good Lawyers Get Into Bad Ethical Trouble” (December 24, 9:00am).

If you have already met your EPSA requirements and attend one of these programs, your credit will be translated to general credit at the Supreme Court. Because the Supreme Court of Ohio allows 6 CLE hours to be taken self-study, the CBA offers classes on-line through its relationship with the Ohio Metro Bar Association.

If you are a member of the Columbus Bar – you are a member of OMBAC and can take advantage of the reduced registration fees. If you are not a member and elect to join while signing up for a CLE, you not only register at the reduced member fee, you join the Columbus Bar for half-priced membership dues.
