Welcome to the Columbus Bar Association’s new blog!
What is the blog? It is another way that the CBA can communicate with its members (and the public) about issues that affect the Central Ohio legal community. The topics featured on the blog may be diverse — but all will involve issues affecting the CBA. And, topics that land on the blog may also be featured in the Daily Reporter on Friday — but posts may appear here first. So, if you want to keep up with all that’s going on at the CBA — or in the Central Ohio legal community — bookmark this “tab” on the CBA website — or follow us on Twitter (@ColumbusBar) or via RSS feed.
As you can see from the author line above, I’m David Bloomfield, Jr., the current President of the CBA. The genesis of the blog has evolved from some of my efforts at Porter, Wright. As background, I’ve been blogging (behind a firewall, mind you) for more than 4 years for the Litigation Department at Porter, Wright. In that (private) blog, we share information about our department, information about upcoming events at our firm, and notes about developments in the law that affect our litigators.
The CBA’s blog is thus the first time that someone other than members of the firm get to see my work, so forgive me if I’m a bit excited about the prospects of a larger audience.
But this blog is NOT about me; rather, I will occupy a corner of the blog here under the Category “President’s Posts.” I promise to highlight meetings I’m planning on attending — and conversations I’ve had with folks about the CBA. I also promise not to prattle on; just short posts, when I’m able to write.
I’m also going to start tweeting on Twitter @DSBJR. Be gentle with me — but I welcome your comments, feedback and any other thing on your mind. The CBA is an association built on membership. Let us know what you think! And, welcome!
