Serving Notice

SAHILY ARTILES-CARRASCO, Certified Court Interpreter, was last week sworn in as the first CBIS assigned interpreter at a Franklin County Common Pleas hearing. Columbus Bar Interpreting Services is the CBA's newest affiliate, designed as a resource for area courts, attorneys, and other law-related agencies in need of certified court interpreters. The service was established to help the legal community comply with Supreme Court of Ohio Rule 88 that takes effect January 1, 2013, requiring a certified interpreter be appointed whenever a party or witness cannot readily understand or communicate.
