The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law has announced that Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor will be named 2012 Alumni of the Year at an awards luncheon on May 24. It is one of the largest annual gatherings of lawyers in the state.

Sherrille D. Akin, Of Counsel to Isaac, Brant, Ledman & Teetor LLP was reappointed for a second 2-year term (2012-2014) as a member of the Florida Probate Rules Committee by Gwynne A. Young, President-Elect of the Florida Bar. As a member of the Probate Rules Committee, Ms. Akin participates in the drafting and revision of rules governing probate and guardianship cases before Florida courts.
Probate Judge Robert G. Montgomery announced two new hires at the Franklin County Probate Court. Raymond S. Parello has accepted the position of Staff Attorney and Mediator. Mr. Parello, a graduate of Capital University Law School, has experience as a practicing attorney, Real Estate Title Agent, Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor, and most recently as a General Magistrate in the Franklin County Probate Court.
Robert V. Morris will be a new General Magistrate beginning May 7, 2012. Mr. Morris, a graduate of Capital University Law School and the Ohio State University, is a long-time Franklin County practicing attorney most recently with the law firm of Morris, Starkey and Waid, where his practice included Probate Litigation, Estate Planning, Trust, Estate and Guardianship Administration. Mr. Morris has served as a Special Magistrate for the Mental Health proceedings in the Franklin County Probate Court from 1992 to the present.
