Serving Notice

STEPHEN J. HOOD has joined Zaino & Humphrey and will concentrate in the areas of estate planning and probate matters, tax consultation and tax court litigation, and various business related services.

JEFFREY A. RICH, Rich & Gillis, has been reappointed as chair of the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) board, to serve a term ending July 2016.

A construction project at Moritz College of Law will include transformation of its student space/ locker area, thanks to the generosity of ALUMS AT DINSMORE & SHOHL along with a matching gift from the firm. A successful fundraising initiative was led by Frank C. Woodside III and Donald B. Leach who secured contributions from fellow alumni (1966-2009). Built in 1959, the student locker area is the last remaining part of the original building to be remodeled. The Dinsmore & Shohl Student Commons will have new lockers, flooring, ceilings, utilities, mailboxes, furniture and more.

KATIE TESNER has joined Benesch as an associate in the Labor & Employment and School Law practice groups. She will focus on litigating unfair labor practice charges and representing clients in administrative appeals.

FREDERIC A. PORTMAN, Portman Foley & Flint, is included on the 2012 Best Lawyers in America list for Workers’ Compensation.

RICHARD T. TAPS has again been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in Elder Law. For the last three years, he has been the only elder law attorney in Central Ohio named by the publication.

In 2012 Best Lawyers, the publication designates the title, “Lawyers of the Year,” to attorneys from legal specialties in large legal communities (a single lawyer in each specialty in each community).
From Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease: six attorneys from the firm’s Columbus office have been named “Lawyer of the Year”: CHARLES S. DEROUSIE, Financial Services Regulation Law; MARY ELLEN FAIRFIELD, Litigation - Labor & Employment; JAMES P. KENNEDY, Antitrust Law; SUZANNE K. RICHARDS, Employment Law – Management; THOMAS B.
