CARTER M. STEWART, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, will present the keynote address at the Capital Law School commencement and hooding ceremony on May 22.
JACK A. GUTTENBERG, Capital Law School Professor, will be honored April 19 at the 22 Annual David D. White Award & Scholarship Reception. Presented for significant contribution to the African-American community, the award and scholarship memorialize the outstanding accomplishments of David White, the Law School’s first African-American graduate in 1931.

OTAR KAKHIDZE, from the Ministry of Justice, sovereign Georgia, will join in panel discussions focused on the successes and troubles associated with adopting sweeping changes to a country's criminal code. Georgia is in the process of drafting a new criminal code from scratch and leading officials from the Ministry of Justice will visit Moritz on April 6 to discuss “Making the Georgian Criminal Code.” The seminar in Saxbe Auditorium, Drinko Hall, begins at 11:45 and includes lunch; registration is necessary (Moritz website). Free and open to the public, the event is co-sponsored by Moritz College of Law, the Federal Bar (Columbus), the U.S. Dept of Justice (Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training), and the Moritz Criminal Law Society. PECK SHAFFER, a national municipal finance law firm, has been ranked first in Ohio and second in the Mideast for bond counsel by information intelligence company Thomson Reuters. Overall, Peck Shaffer was ranked 12th in the nation for bond counsel.
