NEW LAWYERS will have lunch with the Franklin County Municipal Court Judges on Wednesday, October 27, noon to 1 p.m. This is a biennial event for the courts, Common Pleas judges’ event on odd-number years – an opportunity for attorneys with 5-years or less in practice to meet the bench for informal conversation.

FREDERIC A. PORTMAN of Portman Foley & Flint has been named in Best Lawyers® in America for his practice in workers’ compensation.

DINSMORE & SHOHL received the Award of Excellence, presented to a company that meets two of three criteria: a 40% increase over the previous year, a 25,000 meal increase, and at least 50 meals per capita. D&S was also recognized for reaching a benchmark goal based on average Operation Feed campaign meals raised per capita. The overall Operation Feed event raised over 4 million meals for individuals around central Ohio. Dinsmore & Shohl raised over 15,000 meals, which was around 174 meals per employee. A 50% increase from last year!

In addition to Dinsmore & Shohl's recognition, Larry Lanham received a service award for his contribution to Operation Feed's Kitchen Cabinet, community members tasked to reach out to companies and other associations to facilitate growth of Operation Feed into new arenas.

The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the national association of peer-elected trust and estate lawyers, recently hosted an Open House with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C. As the first ACTEC President from Ohio, KAREN M. MOORE of Bricker & Eckler was tasked with overseeing the move of ACTEC’s headquarters from Los Angeles to Washington, DC.
