Twenty-nine Calfee attorneys have been listed in 2010’s Best Lawyers in America, and the firm was ranked number one in Ohio for biotechnology law, and in Columbus for mergers and acquisitions law. Named “Best” are ALBERT N. LUCAS, commercial litigation; DOUGLAS S. MORGAN, corporate and mergers and acquisition; and J. TROY TERAKEDIS, trust and estates.

Best Lawyers in America has named BRETT MILLER, Dinsmore & Shohl, a “2010 Lawyer of the Year." His practice is mainly labor law and he is a certified Workers Compensation Specialist.

CHRISSIE A. POWERS and HEATHER DESKINS have formed their own forensic accounting practice known as P.D. EYE FORENSICS, LLC. They provide litigation support services including fraud detection & deterrence, business valuations, marital relations, damages & lost profits, investigative accounting and bankruptcy services. RUSSELL J. KUTELL, Frost Brown Todd, has been named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Membership in LCA is by invitation only and represents less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellows are evaluated on accomplishment in trial work, along with ethical reputation.

SCOTT N. FRIEDMAN has been granted Fellowship in the American Academy of
Matrimonial Lawyers and joins the firm’s fellow partners, Denise M. Mirman, and his father, William S. Friedman. The Academy Fellows represent individuals in all facets of family law. Approximately 1600 attorneys across the country have the distinction as AAML fellows, including 45 in Ohio.

JOSEPH M. PATCHEN, Carlile Patchen & Murphy, has been appointed by the Governor to the Minority Business Advisory Council. The Council advises the Ohio Departments of Development and Administrative Services to help facilitate opportunities and growth in Ohio for businesses owned by minorities, females and other designated groups.
