Jurca & Lashuk announces the addition of JASON GRABLE as an associate, admitted to practice in the Northern and Southern Federal District Courts.

ROBERT G. PALMER, of Robert Gray Palmer Co., LPA, was again selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America for personal injury litigation. He has made the list each year since 1993. His practices includes bad faith insurance practices and coverage disputes, professional malpractice, probate litigation and employer intentional tort cases.

CHRISTOPHER HOGAN, Newhouse Prophater Letcher & Moots, was named a Super Lawyer by Corporate Counsel Magazine and has received an “AV” rating from Martindale Hubbell.

ELIZABETH Y. COLLIS, Collis Smiles & Collis, was recognized by the 2010 Best Lawyers in America for her practice in the field of administrative law. TERRI-LYNNE B. SMILES, of Collis Smiles, was named in Best Lawyers for practice in the fields of health care law and non-profit/charities law.

KEVIN BACON has joined Appel & Hellstedt as Of Counsel. The firm’s practice emphasis is probate, real estate, and business transaction.

DINSMORE & SHOHL's Columbus office received the "Most Outstanding New Campaign" award at the 2009 Operation Feed Finale for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, having raised over 10,000 meals for the Foodbank in its first year of participation. Operation Feed's mission is to raise food and funds for individuals and families in need. LARRY LANHAM has accepted an invitation to join the campaign leadership for Operation Feed in 2010. Called the “Kitchen Cabinet,” the group comprises representatives from community organizations, associations, and businesses, reaching out to companies and other associations to facilitate growth of Operation Feed in new arenas.

PACO has named DEBBIE SEKERAK, Wiles Boyle Burkholder & Bringardner, the association’s 2009-2010 board secretary. Sekerak is a paralegal in the firm’s real estate/corporate law practice group

JIM PETRO has joined Roetzel & Andress as senior counsel in its Columbus office. He will continue his practice as a litigator, appellate advocate, mediator and policy advisor.
CELEBRATING NATIONAL PRO BONO WEEK, Judge Glaeden, Municipal Court; Judge McIntosh, Common Pleas; and Judge Klatt, Court of Appeals, discuss their part in Pro Bono projects at the October 27 seminar, “Public Benefits in a Nutshell.” Others on the program include Chris Barley, public benefits state support Attorney for the Ohio Poverty Law Center (formerly Ohio State Legal Services Association); Ashley Saltzman, public benefits attorney with Legal Aid and an Equal Justice Works Fellow; and Nancy Simunic, Legal Aid practitioner in the areas of elder law, health care issues, and public benefits. This training is free to attorneys participating in a Pro Bono program through the Legal Aid Society or the Columbus Bar. All others should include a $75 fee with registration. BRIAN L. SHAW has joined Luper Neidenthal & Logan as an associate practicing primarily in the firm’s litigation department, focusing on criminal defense. His experience includes working from the Prosecutor’s Office in collaboration with the Columbus Police and the ATF on a federal initiative known as Project Safe Neighborhood, which tracks crimes involving the use of a firearm committed by juveniles

JUDGE JULIE M. LYNCH, Common Pleas Court, has been appointed to the CAPA Board of Trustees. CAPA operates and maintains world class performance venues and produces artistic programming of the highest quality to serve and educate diverse audiences and features renowned artists of all cultures. This is a three-year appointment.

JAMES A. READEY, mediator and Past President of the Columbus Bar, has been elected President-Elect of the International Academy of Mediators, an organization of over 120 commercial mediators from around the world who have been recognizied as highly experienced and respected in their geographic regions. Jim has also again been named to Best Lawyers in America and to Ohio Super Lawyers in the field of alternative dispute resolution.
