STEPHEN E. CHAPPELEAR, managing partner of Hahn Loeser, Columbus, was recognized by Best Lawyers 2010 in the field of commercial litigation.
JON J. SAIA, Saia & Piatt, presented NICKY DICARLO with the 2009 St. Michael Law Day Scholarship award. DiCarlo was one of twelve 8th grade students who entered the contest for the $750 Scholarship Award, 2009/2010 tuition to continue education at a parochial high school in the Columbus area. The essay topic was “Should illegal immigrant workers be allowed to stay in the United States?”
PARTNERS IN SURVIVAL, a free seminar for couples from Men Against Breast Cancer, national non-profit designed to educate men to be effective caregivers when breast cancer strikes a female loved one. Participants will learn skills to help them deal with everyday problems common before, during and after cancer treatment. CAPITAL University Law School welcomes a new incoming class of nearly 250 students this year, having received more than 1,450 applications – a 15 percent increase over last year. Other facts about this entering class: 50 percent are women; 15 percent are students of color; range in age from 21–55, average age being 26; and 11 students hold a graduate degree.
Cincinnati-based law firm DINSMORE & SHOHL and Louisville-based Woodward Hobson & Fulton have announced the merger of their firms, bringing 54 attorneys to Dinsmore which has grown by more than 150 lawyers in the last two years.
