ASSOCIATION OF LEGAL ADMINISTRATORS Columbus Chapter was awarded the Platinum Level Presidents' Award of Excellence at its annual conference in New Orleans in May. The Presidents' Award of Excellence is named in honor of ALA's past presidents and recognizes chapters for their efforts in effective chapter management. The Columbus Chapter also received the following awards: Third Place for Visibility, Community Service, for the chapter's many charitable endeavors throughout the year; Honorable Mention to BECKY HARTMAN of Shayne Nichols for ALA's "Quest Award," recognizing a new member who is involved in a number of Association activities; Honorable Mention to MARTY EISENBARTH of Bricker & Eckler for her Best Feature Article, "Generational Diversity.” And an Honorable Mention for Vendor Partnering for the chapter's partnership efforts between members and vendors. The Columbus Bar congratulates all members of ALA Columbus for their contributions to an outstanding organization, promoting excellence in the legal community.
MARC KAMER, Peck Shaffer & Williams, has been elected partner to the firm, providing counsel to governmental bodies and businesses on economic and industrial development financing and representing commercial banks on lending transactions.
BAKER HOSTETLER is a strong supporter of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Through a variety of office fundraising events, including lunches, a Wii™ bowling competition, and "Tricycle Time Trials," which had attorneys and staff navigating an obstacle course through office hallways, the firm has raised more than $10,000 for Operation Feed, providing more than 20,200 meals to help feed the hungry in central Ohio.
KERRY RENKER GREEN was recently elected secretary of the Women Lawyers of Franklin County. An associate at Hahn Loeser + Parks, she focuses her practice in litigation, state and federal trial work.
