Rhiel & Associates is pleased to announce the relocation of its office to 394 East Town Street, 43215, and to welcome DANIEL J. HUNTER to its bankruptcy practice. Mr. Hunter was the former General Counsel to the Ohio Insurance Liquidation Office.

CARPENTER AND LIPPS LLP, a noted Columbus business litigation firm, announced today that veteran public policy lawyer and former Ohio legislator David J. Leland will become a named partner in the firm and that the firm’s name is changed to Carpenter Lipps & Leland LLP effective March 1.
 
Michael Carpenter, managing partner of the firm, stated that "This name change is in recognition of the continuing growth of the firm's public policy practice under the guidance of DAVID LELAND. David's leadership, accomplishments and experience have made our firm a valued counselor on a wide range of public policy issues."
      Mr. Leland received his baccalaureate in history from Ohio State University, and his law degree from Capital University.
 
In addition to his service in the Ohio Legislature, Leland served as Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party, National Director of Project Vote and was named by President Bill Clinton to the Federal Services Impasse Panel. David Leland was Senior Advisor and Finance Chair of the successful Strickland for Governor campaign and also served as President and CEO of the Strickland-Fisher Inaugural Committee.
 
Leland has received numerous honors for his work, including the Citizenship Award from The Ohio State University Alumni Association and twice being named One of Ten Outstanding Young Citizens from Columbus Junior Chamber of Commerce. He also received the Bridge Builder Award from The Ohio State University and the Outstanding Achievement Award for the Administration of the Motor Carrier Safety Program from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
 
An avid baseball fan, David Leland serves as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Franklin County Baseball Team (Columbus Clippers).
