The designation is based on evaluations of demonstrated legal experience. Julie L. Carney, health care law issues and area of physician practices; Robert W. Edmund, discrimination: wrongful discharge lawsuits, agency charges, and arbitrations; James B. Hadden, federal courts: intellectual property, real estate, commercial, environmental, contract, and securities litigation; Jay A. Yurkiw, Appeals: defense of claims arising from a biomedical research study conducted at a large public institution.
The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit announces the appointment of GUY R. HUMPHREY as United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Ohio at Dayton. He succeeds Judge Thomas F. Waldron who retired on October 1, 2007.
DEBORAH A. BOIARSKY has joined Porter Wright Morris & Arthur as an associate. Her practice focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, particularly in the areas of qualified retirement and employee welfare benefit plans.
DAVID M. SCOTT, civil litigator at Luper Neidenthal & Logan, has been named to the 2006 Ohio Super Lawyers list, recognizing up-and-coming attorneys in the area of law in which they practice. “Rising Stars” are selected by a survey of 35,000 of the state’s top lawyers by Law & Politics Magazine.
