Coming Up - Final Selection of Summer Clerks

Student applicants and prospective employers recently completed 156 interviews at the Columbus Bar offices for the Minority Clerkship Program.
Through the program, overseen by the Minorities in the Law Committee co-chaired by Greg Swart and Megan Gonzalez, 31 positions are available for the summer of 2013 and will be finalized by early March.
The applicants consist of first and second year law students from Moritz College of Law and Capital Univ. Law School. Students have a chance for up to six interviews with participating employers. As Megan Gonzalez reflects, it is an opportunity she would have appreciated during law school.
Each candidate undergoes a rigorous selection process, including the submission of an application, personal statement, academic recommendation letters, grade qualification, and completion of a writing examination. Each employer selects the applicants they wish to interview. According to Swart, these changes offer participating employers a unique opportunity to preview legal talent outside their traditional recruitment methods that will help them respond effectively to the changing demographics of their clients.
