Meet Britani L. Galloway, ColumbusLawyerFinder.com

Britani L. Galloway (view ColumbusLawyerFinder.com profile)

Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I decided to become an attorney because I wanted to help children. I grew up wanting to be a teacher, but through volunteering for CASA (court appointed special advocates), I knew that I was meant to spend my life helping children in a different way.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
I have benefitted from mentoring by several seasoned domestic and juvenile attorneys. I am also a court appointed attorney for abused, neglected and dependent children. Helping these children through tough situations has made me more passionate about my practice.

What made you choose your primary area of law?
Divorce and adoption have great impact on families. For either of these matters, each situation is different. I understand the emotional aspects of divorcing a spouse and losing time with children. Adoption presents its own challenges and emotional issues for both the adopting parent or the birth parent. I pride myself on being a patient and intent listener in order to really understand the unique aspects of each client's matter.

What makes your law firm unique?
I stay in close contact with my clients, and generally return phone calls or emails within a day.

Describe your ideal client.
My ideal is a client who respects my legal advice. Even if a client does not take my advice, I want them to listen to my advice so they are fully informed when they make a decision.

Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I love spending time with my family, going to the movies and releasing stress by working out.

Describe your charitable activities.
I have participated several times in the CBA "Ask an Attorney" Panel on Channel 10, participated in the Interfaith Legal Clinic, and I have been a judge for the National Center for Adoption Law and Policy Moot Court and the Ohio Center for Law Related Education Mock Trial.
