The Taxing Matters Series next presentation is Wednesday, February 13, on the issues in Business Tax Distinctions. Faculty members Vincent and Tanya Nardone of Nardone Law Group, along with Bonnie O’Neil of Nationwide Insurance’s Employment Practice Group, will discuss advanced issues in "Employee vs. Independent Contractor Distinctions."

Topics covered include general factors used to determine if an individual is an employee or independent contractor; specific factors addressed by the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Labor, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services; government initiatives including IRS National Research Program and the DOL Misclassification Initiative; and responding and defending an audit in this area.

As a part of the Taxing Matters Series, attorney attendees who register may be eligible for 1.0 hour of CLE credit, and members of the Business Tax Committee may audit the presentation. Registration fees are members $40 prepaid/$45 day-of; non-members $55 prepaid/$60 day-of; and non-attorneys $30 prepaid/$35 day-of.
