Managing the Media: Lawyers and the Press

Bruce M. Hennes, Managing Partner of Hennes Paynter Communications, one of the few firms in the U.S. focused exclusively on crisis communications, will be presenting his expertise at the 3.0 Hour CLE “Managing the Media: Lawyers and the Press” on December 7. He will be joined by Scott A. Campbell, Thompson Hine, for this program that provides 1.0 hour professionalism.

Campbell will cover canons and case law surrounding the relationship between PR activities, PR counsel and the management of the media, often a critical component of case strategy in litigation practice. Hennes will uncover how to establish and maintain control of the message when a reporter calls and will also provide insight as to the expectations of the newsmaker and the reporter. The program will also offer information about the fundamental differences between print, television and radio interviews; and how each requires different skill sets – and how to use those skills proactively.
