Human Trafficking in Ohio?
Indeed. Human trafficking – the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person induced by force, fraud, or coercion – here in Ohio.
Stephanie R. Hanna, staff attorney for Judge Christopher Geer and Juvenile Law Committee Chair, has organized the 3.0 hour CLE, “Human Trafficking: Perspectives on Juvenile Law” for December 3. The seminar will provide an insightful look at the legal and psychosocial issues surrounding human trafficking in Central Ohio.
Dr. Karen Miner-Romanoff, M.A., J.D., Program Chair Criminal Justice Administration, Franklin University will explore the Ohio Human Trafficking Act of 2012; followed by Duane Casares, LISW-S, CEO, Directions For Youth & Families, who will examine the recovery process for victims of human trafficking. Christine Conrad, LSW, MSW, The Salvation Army, will discuss prevention and rescue.
