Meet Bryan Bowen, ColumbusLawyerFinder.com

Bryan Bowen (view ColumbusLawyerFinder.com profile)
Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I became an attorney in order to provide help to people that other professions can't or won't help. An attorney is a last resort for a lot of people, and they deserve an attorney who listens to their concerns and then fights for what they need.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
I have a passion for criminal defense law that goes along with my love for the underdog. I strongly believe that our Constitution demands that the accused receive a vigorous defense, but many people, even many attorneys, don't want to be the one to provide that defense. I want to be that person, defending the rights of all of us.
What makes your law firm unique?
Bowen & Keck Law is unique because of the perspectives my partner and I bring to the practice of law. We were both prosecutors here in Columbus, but we have a lot of other experience, as well. My partner was a small business owner as well as an attorney for The Ohio State University, and I've been both a prosecutor and a defense attorney in several different cities and towns. That allows us to draw on our experience to create a truly client-centered approach to law, and it gives us the ability to collaborate on critical issues in our cases.
Describe your ideal client.
My ideal client is one who understands that what he or she tells me will never leave the room unless I'm specifically told that I can reveal it. Attorney-client privilege is so important to the relationship between an attorney and a client because it fosters the trust that is necessary in order to be able to try a case. I have to be able to trust that my client is telling me the whole story about what happened, so I have an accurate understanding of the facts before we go to trial.
