The "Wheels of Justice" Keep Rolling

For the 12th consecutive year, Leon Friedberg of Carlile Patchen & Murphy announces that this year’s "23rd Annual" Carlile Patchen & Murphy Legal "Velvet Ride" is scheduled for Sunday, September 23. The Velvet Ride is open to Central Ohio lawyers, judges, staff, relatives, and friends, and all are welcome.
The CPM Velvet Ride is a group motorcycle ride that travels for approximately an hour and a half by scenic route to a destination around Columbus. The first namesake ride was to the Velvet Ice Cream factory in Utica, but over the years destinations have included other locations such as Buckeye Lake and Yellow Springs.
Friedberg, who is a member and past chair of several Columbus Bar committees, is a long-time motorcycle enthusiast. When asked why the event is called the “23rd Annual” ride, Leon explained: “Well, there has to be a second ride to have an ‘annual’ ride. So, we called the first ride the ‘23rd Annual’ as a tongue-in-cheek joke. The name just stuck over the years.”
This year, riders will meet at the Carlile Patchen & Murphy offices, Grant and Broad Streets, at 11:00am on Sunday, September 23, to begin the ride, tentatively scheduled to be to Mohican State Park Lodge.
