MPDI Firms Host Law & Leadership Institute Interns

This is the fifth year for the Law and Leadership Institute, LLC, a state-wide pipeline program for high school students designed to enrich their educational experiences and prepare them for college and, hopefully, for law school (100% of the LLI students in the Columbus Class of 2012 have college acceptances).

The Columbus Bar’s Managing Partners Diversity Initiative’s signatory firms will host 24 rising tenth grade high school students for the highlight of their summer – a four day internship at a law firm - July 16 through 19. Internship hosts have been provided each year because the LLI program supports the recruitment goal in the current Action Plan and the response from the participating firms has been overwhelmingly positive. Hope Sharett, executive director, and Kathy Northern, Moritz law school host, provided firms with an overview of the internship activities during lunch at the Columbus Bar in June.

Interested in becoming a host or student sponsor? It is not too late! Contact Annette Hudson 614/340.2033 or annette@cbalaw.org for details.
