Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I found it to be a good way to help people. I realize the legal field can be difficult and confusing for those who are unfamiliar with it, and I wanted to provide as much knowledge and reassurance to my clients as I could.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
I have seen friends and family members have bad experiences with attorneys in the past. I had firsthand knowledge of their frustrations and I have used that in my everyday practice to try and address all concerns my clients have. I have also been fortunate to train with some of the best attorneys in the bankruptcy field over the last eight years and their teaching has been invaluable.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
I chose to be a bankruptcy attorney because I felt it was a field that offered the best opportunity to truly help people. I know clients facing bankruptcy feel confused and scared and have also suffered through a certain amount of creditor harassment. Bankruptcy is a field where you get to meet face to face with all your clients and personally reassure them so they can feel confident and hopeful again.
What makes your law firm unique?
My clients receive a very personal experience. Clients who call and email my firm will get a call or email back from me – not an assistant. I conduct every appointment with my clients and make myself available on weekends and evenings to accommodate their schedules. I understand the stress that credit problems can cause and I do my best to explain everything to my clients and make them feel at ease.
