Sgt. 1st Class Shawn Thomas Hannon, Chief Legal Counsel of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services and a 2006 graduate of Capital University Law School, was one of three Ohio National Guard soldiers killed on Wednesday, April 4, while conducting a Rule Of Law mission in northern Afghanistan.

Hannon was a member of the Ohio National Guard’s 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and he was on his third tour of duty. He leaves behind a wife, Jamie, and a 9-month-old son, Evan.
