Samir B. Dahman (view ColumbusLawyerFinder.com profile)
Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I enjoy helping people make their ideas come to life. Navigating the process of setting up a company or new product can distract an entrepreneur or business focus away from the real goal – making their new and better idea happen. That is where I enjoy helping people. And as a hockey player and youth coach, I enjoy the competition of litigation.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
I lived in Taipei, Taiwan for a few years before law school working as a research and marketing analyst. Living so far away from my family, learning a foreign language, and understanding a very different culture forced me to sincerely appreciate people as individuals and the relationships that we all share. Because of that I am able to appreciate the challenges that my clients face and I work sincerely towards reaching their goals.
What makes your law firm unique?
Dahman Law is unique in that we take a client-focused approach to providing legal services. We look at each challenge from the perspective of our client, not our own. That is why we can provide all of our services on a pre-determined, fixed fee or contingency basis. It gives clients certainty and predictability when legal issues arise.
Describe your charitable activities.
Paying it forward is so important. And because so many people have helped me get to where I am today, I know I must give to and help others. I have had the good fortune of volunteering as the head coach of Upper Arlington's middle school hockey team for five years, and I also coach the UA Junior Varsity goalies. I have provided volunteer pro-bono legal services to the Landlord-Tennant Clinic and Volunteers of America. I also volunteer to help those less fortunate through Rebuilding Together and at the YWCA.
