Court Adopts New Writing Manual

The Supreme Court of Ohio has released a new comprehensive guide to writing judicial opinions, which will be applied in the Court’s opinions effective January 1, 2012. The new guide replaces the original Manual of Citations, an interim version and later revisions.

Divided into three parts, the manual contains guidance on proper citation format for opinions, cases, and statutes in Supreme Court opinions; proper style for Supreme Court opinions; and a new section with examples on how to structure an opinion.
