Call for Comments on Traffic Rule
The Supreme Court of Ohio will accept public comment until Nov. 22 on a proposed amendment to the Ohio Traffic Rules that clarifies the authority of traffic violations bureaus. The Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure has recommended the change.
The proposed addition to Rule 13(B)(4) states that driving while under suspension or revocation of a driver’s or commercial driver’s license cannot be processed by a traffic violations bureau “when jail is a possible penalty.”
Text of the proposed amendment is available on the Court website. Comments should be submitted in writing to Jo Ellen Cline, Government Relations Counsel, Supreme Court of Ohio; or j.cline@sc.ohio.gov.
