Columbus Bar inc Update

The Columbus Bar inc Professional Development Center (Suite 105 – down one floor) has been up and running for six months. Each attorney has been busy building a solo practice, developing client relationships, and learning from the mentors affiliated with the inc program. Many of the attorneys are representing clients obtained from the Columbus Bar Lawyer Referral Service, general networking, and contract work through local businesses. The attorneys have also participated in educational seminars about account reconciliation, firm administration, PCLaw, and Marketing 101 for Legal Professionals.

This past month, an incling “flew the coop,” so to speak. Isaac Rinsky was hired by the Columbus City Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant City Prosecutor. “I am thankful for having the opportunity to participate in Columbus Bar inc. I feel confident that I could easily go back to my solo practice later in my career,” said Rinsky. “I think this experience will aid me in understanding the perspective and rationale behind the actions of the attorneys I will work with in my current position,” Rinsky says.

Rinsky’s departure created a vacancy just filled by Lisa Julius, a 2009 graduate who intends to focus on criminal defense and domestic relations. Columbus Bar inc continues to need mentors, speakers, and sponsors. If you are interested in getting involved, contact program administrator, Danielle Murphy, at danielle@cbalaw.org or 614/340.2030.
